The Curse of the Trilogies

I think I finally figured out why we were unable to sit through the third installment of Pirates of the Caribbean. And it wasn't neccesarily us, but the curse of the trilogies at work. I think, if anything, 2007 will defintely be known as the year of the trilogies. There was Pirates 3, Shrek 3, Spiderman 3, all films that were tremendously enjoyable the first time we saw it and wished there was more, so the sequel came along. But by the time the trilogy rolled around, I think we're just so freaking tired of the same thing already.
